I have to admit I haven’t got much experience with the Panasonic tablets. I know how good their television sets are and how good their other products are. It remains to be seen weather or not this Tab will be as brilliant as their other creations in other departments. Still, they seem to have nailed it in the looks, design and practicality of the device.
- Processor : Dual-core 1.2 GHz Marvell processor
- RAM : 1 GB
- Android OS : 3.2 Honeycomb
- Camera : 5 MP
- Display : 768 x 1024 pixels, 10.1 inches (~127 ppi pixel density)
The screen of this tablet is an LCD with a capacitive touchscreen that has around I don’t know how many colors since there isn’t that much data about it out there. The resolution of the screen reaches 768 x 1024 pixels and the screen itself is 10.1 inches big. That allows for a pixel density of approximately 127 ppi. Actually, I don’t know exactly if the pixel density is determined by resolution and screen size, but 127 ppi isn’t that bright. Also, a unique feature of the screen is the anti-reflective and anti-glare display. That’s a pretty rare feature among tablets.
On the memory side, this tab has an internal storage space of 16 GB. It also has 1 GB of RAM, which allows for quite a bit of multitasking. The storage part isn’t that much of a problem. If you need more space, you can use the MicroSD card slot which can use any MicroSD card of up to 32 GB.
On the camera note, it has a 5 MP camera that can easily photograph at resolutions as high as 2592 х 1944 pixels. The features of the camera include : autofocus, LED flash and Geo-Tagging. It also has a video recorder, but I don’t know for sure if you can use it to record in HD. This tablet also has a secondary 2 MP camera.
On the hardware side, this Android Tab has a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Marvell processor. There isn’t that much more info about the rest of the hardware specs. That’s a pretty powerful configuration in itself, but then again, there are Android Phones announced at the same time as this Tablet that have a better configuration than this tablet.
On the software side, it has Android OS v3.2 Honeycomb. That’s quite a disappointment since we don’t even know for sure whether or not it can be upgraded to 4.0. C’est la vie …
A pretty good Tablet for Panasonic to get a foothold in the Tab market, but it’s quite far from the good ones out there.
You can get this tablet from Amazon.
