I don’t normally do this, but considering I too use such websites as well and would wish for something like this to exist in my country, I’m going to make an exception. I feel like a bit of clarification is in order. Well, today I’ll be posting a small review / recommendation for a pretty interesting app I happened to stumble upon. If you’ve already read the title, you know what it’s name is, so it’s time to tell you what it does. This application is, in essence, an efficient way of using an online Classified Ads service on Android platforms. As the name would suggest, it is made for this awesome Indian website known as OLX.in which specializes in these classified ads.
Now some of you may be wondering: why India of all places? Well, we’ve gotten quite a bit of traffic from the said region and decided to maybe give something back. This app is a free one, after all, and it won’t kill you to maybe give it a try-out considering it’s pretty darn awesome. I understand that it was also featured on Indian television, but I don’t watch a lot of TV, be it local or otherwise.
Of course, each and every country has their own service for online classified ads, but in this case we chose to focus on OLX for Android, because while many other countries have their own service for such ads and announcements, not many countries have them in Android platforms or any other platform aside from the PC.
At the risk of babbling a bit, I’ll share with you a personal reason why I find this Android app BETTER than the original website. A few years ago, I had to post a Classified Ad regarding a baggage trailer ( the kind that you tie to cars – a small one of about 200 kg capacity ). Now my particular country has its own websites for this, but most of them aren’t as FREE as you may think ( meaning they’ll put your announcement in, but only after the 50 or so pages of PREMIUM ads ). That wasn’t exactly what offended me the most. At the time I had no access to a good camera so I used my phone’s camera ( it’s decent and a bit of PhotoShop can correct most flaws ). After snapping the picture, I had to search for some USB cable to put them into the PC, wait for the transfer to the PC and then the upload and only after that finally post the Ad. Now it’s not necessarily that this was hard to do, but in this day and age it’s inconvenient to say the least.
In the age of speed and internet wherever you go, this App actually goes and does it right, offering you free India classified ads on-the-go and without much effort. Say you have the object you want to sell right in front of you: you can easily snap the photo, add the text and put the ad right up, without any further effort. Not only does it make it more efficient, it makes it quicker and it makes it more enjoyable as well – not only the selling part, but the browsing as well. Say a person has a small screen phone – that person will have trouble navigating the Mobile Version of the website as they will have to zoom in and out all the time, where as with the OLX Free Classifieds app, you will have no such problem as it shows exactly what you want it to show in an easy to look and navigate mode.
Don’t take my word for it, however. Please, feel free to try this app out for yourself and let it convince you that what I say is true.
