ZTE is a pretty big manufacturer, but certainly not on the same page as Samsung or HTC or the likes. However, when they do strike it big, they set themselves up like bandits. ZTE has, in fact, recently announced its latest flagship smartphone – the Nubia Z5S ( as you’ve probably already guessed from the title ). Along with this, a Mini version of the phone was also announced. The company is now claiming to have recorded an interesting number of pre-orders: 2.5 million units for the Z5S and Z5S Mini, all of them through their retailing partner – JD.com.
These sales have even managed to surpass a record previously held by Xiaomi, according to the Chinese manufacturer. A decisive factor in the sales of these devices seems to be the capable hardware found in combination with advanced imaging that also include Optical Image Stabilization.
The features of this Nubia Z5S aren’t so bad, either. The phone has a 5-inch 1080p LCD display and features a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor alongside 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP main camera, a 5 MP front camera, a 2300 mAh battery and a decent Android OS v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Nubia Z5S Mini is also quite interesting: 4.7-inch IGZO display, 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor with the same 2 GB of RAM, the same cameras ( 13 MP main and 5 MP secondary ) and the same battery and Android version.
A really neat factor that is bound to be the reason for so many pre-orders has got to be the price of the device: close to 330 dollars for the Nubia Z5S and around 250 dollars for the Mini version. I have to admit, the deal looks pretty darn enticing.
