I mentioned at some point in time that I am a big fan of a hardware developer, more accurately Qualcomm, for their persistence in always coming through with the best ( or among the best ) of hardware for the devices with which they collaborate. Also, a favorite of mine is LG. I have used LG products long before they were in the Android market and can honestly say that they are near and dear to my heard. That is why it fills me with great joy to know that they are teaming up with Qualcomm in order to release the new G-Series of LG smartphones.
This particular piece of news isn’t exactly going to be a long one, but then again, nor do we need a long article to relay an important point. LG and Qualcomm have recently announced their collaboration on the next G-Series Smartphone. The successor to the LG Optimus G will have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 chipset on it with a Quad-Core Krait 400 GPU. This newer Qualcomm chipset promises up to 75% better performance than the Snapdragon S4 Pro. On the other hand, the new Adreno 330 GPU promises to deliver twice the punch that the current Adreno 320 has.
Now if you are to read the long press release, it goes out to methodically point out and expand upon some of the features of the new Snapdragon 800. However, since many people don’t really have the time or patience to read through all of those, I will offer you the tl;dr version ( too long, didn’t read ). They are including support for Advanced 4G LTe, Ultra HD video capture playback and display support as well as dynamic power saving for better power management.
As you can see for yourself, a lot of things are promised, a lot of things are being said, and we shall see at the time of which it comes out if there is any truth to them. In this matter, as well as in many others, only time will bring us the answer.
