Tomorrow will be a big day – it’s the Mobile World Congress, where many new phones and cool mobile technologies will be announced and demo-ed So, naturally, ahead of MWC we get a leaked photo of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S2, and also some of the rumored specs for it.
Galaxy S2 is supposed to have a 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus display (hopefully without the Pentile Matrix) at a resolution of 800×480. This resolution is starting to get old for 2011, and even Motorola’s Atrix qHD 960×540 resolution isn’t that impressive. I hope that by the end of the year we’ll finally get to see true HD display with a 1280×720 resolution, which would be about 340 PPI for a 4.3″ screen – not much more than iPhone 4 pixel density, so doable.
The phone should also have the Orion/Exynos dual core chip with ARM’s Mali GPU. It will be interesting if they show how powerful it is compared to a Tegra 2.
