Today we’ll be reviewing the Pantech Breakout. This is a phone specifically made for Verizon. This, just like the many phones reviewed in the past couple of days, is not a regular GSM device. The Pantech Breakout also uses none other than CDMA networks, which have proven to be both good and bad at the same time. Truth be told they are pretty fast as a network, but I’m not so sure about their speed as far as internet traffic goes. Also, this is a 4G phone, which is pretty darn fast in the connectivity and speed but may not be so forgiving with the battery and with your wallet ( it may or may not cost a bit more if you use it ).
Well, without further ado, let us begin this little review of the Pantech Breakout.
GENERAL
Starting up, we’ll take a look at the more general features of the Pantech Breakout. Here you can find information about the supported networks and the announcement and release date. The networks supported by the Pantech Breakout are 2G, 3G and even 4G, as I’m sure I’ve already mentioned. The networks are as following : CDMA 800 / 1900 ( the 2G ones ), CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO ( the 3G one ) and LTE 700 MHz Class 13 ( the 4G one ). SOFTWARE
Following is the review of the software of the Pantech Breakout. We will see here what version of OS the Pantech Breakout has and whether or not it can be upgraded to a better one. The Pantech Breakout comes with Android OS v2.3 Gingerbread installed on it and apparently cannot be upgraded officially to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. You can do that unofficially but it is highly not recommended since it can ruin your phone in really bad ways. If you wish to do so that is your choice but it will most probably void any warranty of the phone and in case it will break down ( which it may ) you will have to fix it out of your own pocket.

Last but not least is the review of the features and capabilities of the Pantech Breakout. The sensors of the Pantech Breakout are as following : Accelerometer and Proximity. The messaging on the Pantech Breakout can be done via the following : SMS ( with threaded view ), MMS, Push Mail and IM.
