Since I haven’t seen any good Motorola phone lately, I’ve decided to review this one. I don’t really know if review is well said since it’s more of a preview ( depending on where you are from because certain countries tend to release the phone before its official release date, or a whole lot of while after ). The Motorola Fire isn’t that strong of a phone. Actually, it’s quite weak but some of the females of my country tend to prefer such phones only because they have a QWERTY keyboard. Men usually look more into performance and less into aspect and other things. I’m not being sexist here, I’m just saying some facts : usually young teenage girls look more for QWERTY in order to help them text easier, while boys usually look for performance and practicality in their devices. This being said, let us start this little review / preview.

- Display : 240 x 320 pixels, 2.8 inches (~143 ppi pixel density)
As you can probably tell for yourself, those specs are quite weak especially for today’s standards. Even for 2011 when it was announced, those specs were quite weak. Anyway, this phone is 117 x 58 x 14 mm big and weighs about 110 g. It also has a QWERTY keyboard, as you’ve probably already seen.
Let’s move on to the display : we’re talking about a TFT capacitive touchscreen with approximately 256 K colors. The resolution of this screen reaches 240 x 320 pixels and the screen itself is approximately 2.8 inches. The pixel density of this screen is approximately 143 ppi ( which I am told is pretty weak, considering that the average has been set at 150 ). The screen also has multitouch and the phone is running the Moto Switch UI. That’s about it for the screen or display part, so let’s move on.
On the memory side, it has no memory and apparently no notable internal storage. All it does have is a MicroSD card slot ( which you already know how it works : anything below 32 GB goes ). Since there is no more we can say about the memory part, let us move on.
This part will be short : the sound part. It has Vibration and MP3 Ringtones as Alert Types. The Motorola Fire also has a Loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack. That’s about it for the sound part.
Moving on to the camera part, the Motorola Fire has a primary camera of approximately 3.15 MP and a screen resolution of approximately 2048 x 1536 pixels. The features of the camera only include geo-tagging and nothing more. This phone has no secondary frontal camera, apparently. The video recorder is also quite weak since it only records in VGA quality.
Since I’ve never done this before, now I shall talk a bit about the Data Connection of this Android Phone. The Motorola Fire has GPRS and EDGE technology, also, it has a Data Speed of HSDPA and HSUPA. Thie WLAN is a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and it also has Wi-Fi hotspot. This phone has Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR and a USB v2.0 microUSB connection. Pretty complex terms for some of the people around. Doesn’t matter if you know what they mean or not, anyway, since most people don’t know what they stand for but brag to their friends about them anyway.
The hardware of this phone is nonexistent. The Motorola Fire has no processor, no chipset and no GPU whatsoever. So, since I can’t talk about the hardware specs at all, let us move on.
The Operating System of this phone consists of Android OS v2.3 Gingerbread. This phone was announced in December 2011 and by then Ice Cream Sandwich was available. I’m quite disappointed to see that a phone which was announced after the availability of the ICS is lacking the final version of the Android OS. Still, it’s a bit logical since this phone is too weak to cope with the Ice Cream Sandwich.
On another notion, the Motorola Fire also has a few sensors ( like the ones ALL smartphones have ) such as : accelerometer, proximity and compass sensors. The Messaging of this phone can be made through SMS ( as threaded view ), MMS, E-Mail, Push E-Mail ( I don’t know what it is but it sounds fancy ) and IM. The browser is a WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML. The Radio of this Motorola phone is Stereo FM radio with RDS. It also has a GPS ( just like any other android device ) which consists of A-GPS support. The Motorola Fire also has Java via a Java MIDP emulator. It comes in black and white colors ( the phone, not the java ).

This concludes our little review of the Motorola Fire. There is no real, solid evidence of when this phone may come out and I’m not sure many people will be looking forward to its release date considering it’s quite inferior to many other phones.
