Toshiba has a reputation for having some really tough laptops out there. Through this article, we shall see if their tablets are at least half as good as their laptops ( although I personally highly doubt it ). We’re going to take a closer look at the Toshiba Thrive 7.

The reason why I said I highly doubt it is because Toshiba doesn’t really have a reputation of being the top notch of the market. They were outclassed a few times before and I suspect so will their tablets.
The screen of this tablet is an LED-backlit LCD with a capacitive touchscreen that has around 16M colors. The resolution of the screen reaches 1280 x 800 pixels and the screen itself is 7.0 inches big. That allows for a pixel density of approximately 216 ppi. That’s a pretty good screen, by my standards.
On the memory side, this tab has an internal storage space of 16 to 32 GB, depending on the model you’ve purchased. It also has 1 GB of RAM, which allows for quite a bit of multitasking. The storage part isn’t that much of a problem. If you need more space, you can use the MicroSD card slot which can use any MicroSD card of up to 32 GB.
On the camera note, it has a 5 MP camera that can easily photograph at resolutions as high as 2592 х 1944 pixels. The features of the camera include : autofocus, LED flash and Geo-Tagging. The video recorder is a really awesome one too since it can record at resolutions as high as 720p. This tablet also has a secondary 2 MP camera.
On the hardware side, this Android Tab has a Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, an ULP GeForce GPU and also a Tegra 2 T20 chipset. That’s a pretty powerful configuration, but then again, there are Android Phones announced at the same time as this Tablet that have a better configuration than it.
On the software side, it has Android OS v3.2 Honeycomb. That’s quite a disappointment since we don’t even know for sure whether or not it can be upgraded to 4.0. C’est la vie …
